@polarbaer Use the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys and open task manager. Look for this unknown app in the process tab. Highlight it ( standard mouse click ) then right mouse button click for the new menu. Select “Open File Location”. Lets see where its located. You can also terminate that process once you are sure about what it is.
If malware is suspected run a full system scan with Malwarebytes to get additional info about what this may or may not be.

Hallo,
Hello,
I checked all autostart programs.
I know all of them.
I still receive this “unknown application”, which I cannot extinguish.
How can I remove this application from the start manager if Norton doesn’t tell me what it is?
Malwarebytes found 0 problems.
@polarbaer The best suggestion I have to give is make sure you are now using the latest Norton version 25.8.xx . Open startup manager, in the area to the right in the line where your unknown process is located, there will be three small dots as shown below, if you hover your mouse cursor there. Click it. A new dialog named “Show Details” will appear. Open it.
Once show details is opened you will see the dialog below. In the area where the label “locate” in blue lettering is, click it. This will open the directory where this file/process is located and its name. You can then use that location to remove the offender if it is something nefarious.

Hallo SoulAsylum,
I know this.
I did it in advance before I wrote here.
If I click on “View Details” on the unknown app, the message comes from datei-insight “Unfortunately, an error occurred”
I suspect that it could be an app that was previously in the autostart, but was no longer needed by an update.
And Norton did not notice it and therefore shows it as a mistake.
Of course I would like to remove this wrong app.
Check your startup apps in Windows settings. Revo uninstaller may be able to help as well.

Hi, this is caused by setting the (Default) value to an empty string instead of (value not set) in the Run registry key; it occurred after installing other software (e.g., Dymo). The fix should be released in the next N360 release. We apologize for the inconvenience.
@pavelgen What registry key?
SoulAsylumGURU
@pavelgen What registry key?
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
As a workaround, simply remove the (Default) value.
Thank you for the post back.
