BEWARE!!!

When I was installing my new NS deluxe I was told to go to norton.com/setup, which I did. Up came a page (generated by Yahoo) with options. I clicked on the first one: Norton - my subscription, manage.norton.com/setup.

I ended up with a website that told me that my computer was infected and they wanted fix it and sell me protection : the cost was $99.99 for 30 days, 1 year for 249.99 or 3 years for 499.99. I realized that this could not be Norton and told them I had to talk to my husband about it and I would call them back.

Then I called Norton and told them about my experiance and installed my program while I was on the phone with them.

Where did you purchase your NS Deluxe product?

Where did you see the information to go to norton.com/setup? That is a valid Norton web address. Did you click on a link in an email to get there? If it was an email and you still have it, hover your cursor over the link and look at the status line at the bottom of your email client and see what is shown as the URL for that link. That is likely how you got redirected to a Yahoo based page.

The good news is that you caught it in time and were not scammed. And that you contacted the real Norton Support and got things set up correctly.
