Did you ever have the pre-release version of Norton Ghost 10 on your system? You may wish to contact our support team to help resolve this issue:

Please let me know if this resolves your issues. Thanks!
Hi all ,I have Norton ghost 10 (Full retail) which I bought in August 2006 and I am running XP Home. It alway updated fine until a couple of months back when it stoped updating properley. Now when I try to update it says " live update failed to update because you may be running a 2005 pre-release version or beta"..(Which I am not.). It gave the error code-LU1806. So I went to the Norton tecnical website and it advised to set up Live Update to interactive mode and to set the error support level to enhanced, and then to run Live Update again to see which part is not updating and get a new error code. After doing all this " Symantec Commen Client" had a red X next to it and it gave a new error code of "LU1812". So I went bact to the support site to check out this error code but no found no helpful advise.
I was not to worried about it not updating until I installed XP SP3 and tried to restore a complete system back-up of my PC. The back-up failed complely and my PC would not even start up, luckely I had annother back-up made before I installed SP3 ,and this was OK. But now it seems if I am to continue using Norton Ghost I must update it or I will not be able to install XP SP3 again.
I will be greatful to any help in this matter,
Regards Stu
I’ve now going to ditch Norton Ghost in favour of “Acronis True Image 11” by all accounts its much better and they wan’t withdraw support after 18 months (like I think Norton have done). About a year ago I stoped using Norton Internet Sercurity and bought Kaspersky Internet sercurity (which was cheaper and better in every respect), it was the best move I ever made because I was getting errors and had problems shutting my PC down not to mention the very slugish performance. Now I’m going to stop using Ghost…a move I’m sure I won’t regret.
