I have a spare Norton Internet Security 2011 product key. Since I'm already using NIS 2012 I'm wondering if I could give it to my friend. Is it possible to upgrade NIS 2011 to NIS 2012 using NIS 2011 product key? since he's looking for NIS 2012 serial key.
Thanks in advance!
Hi avin1103,
If the NIS11 key is current, or hasn't been used yet, then your friend can activate NIS12 with that key.
Dave.
Even my aunt want's to buy NIS 2012... I wish to buy it for her... Can I just get the NIS 2011 key and give to her to use it in 2012... she 's not a computer pro so I'll have to teach her... btw NIS 2011 is much cheaper I guess on eBay..

Be very careful buying NIS off ebay. It has been know for people to sell expired or stolen copies.

That depends. If you are giving it to your friend, Is it a one PC licence, or 3 PC licence and has it already been activated? If it has already been activated, then the subsciption began from first activating. If you activated 12 months ago, then your licence is probably expired and no longer of use to anyone.
Dave.
It's just for one PC and I got it the previous week and it hasn't been used.

Then if it is a legit copy, it can only be used on one system only. The Product Key should be able to activate NIS12 without any problem.
