RESOLVED: Have tendency to just start trying stuff and making things worse. So, that is what I did and this time it appeared to resolve the issue. Clicked on uninstall from Control Panel on Version 22 and it stated that it was “already uninstalled”. After a few seconds Version 22 disappeared from Control Panel. Of course it was not already FULLY uninstalled until I clicked to uninstall as it was showing up there and I saw the VPN conflict.
Odd thing is that I never got a notice that a new App was installed. If I clicked on “All Apps” there was nothing at the top like you typically would get - “recently installed” on the i9 system where I had the issue. The i7 system still shows Norton 360 as “Recently Installed”.
Issue abstract:
After successfully upgrading to new version 24.x from 22.x on an older i7 Win 11 PC and checking out & customizing settings, decided to proceed on newer Win 11 i9 system. The i9 Win 11 system now had both versions installed.
Detailed description:
See both Old v22.x and New v24.x versions in Control Panel. See Old 360 & My Norton interfaces in ver 22. (If I turn on VPN in old V22, new V24 sees another VPN on.) Clicked on Live Update to see it it would clear up, followed by a reboot.
Has anybody else experienced this? Would you try to uninstall old version from Control Panel? Do not really want to contact support and them insist on remoting into my i9 computer.
… you’d think there would be all kinds of conflicts going on (pop ups) other than just VPN notice.
Product & version number: 22.x & 24.x
