Upgrading from NIS 2009 to NIS 2010 - some questions and concerns

Hi everyone,

I currently have NIS 2009 and am very happy with it, but over 2 months ago I decided to upgrade to NIS 2010 because I'd read good reports about it. As I have to use dial-up, I decided to get a disk rather than download, which would have taken 5+ hours. To cut a long story short, the disk never arrived, although Symantec took the money from my credit card. Now, having cancelled that order, I'm wavering between simply renewing my subscription to NIS 2009 or getting the disk from Amazon which is the cheaper option. If I go for the latter course of getting the NIS 2010 disk, I would like to know:

1. Can I install it over NIS 2009 or would this cause problems?

2. If so, how many times should I run the NRT before installing NIS 2010?

3. Is there anything I should be particularly aware of if I install NIS 2010?

4. Are both Windows Defender and SpywareBlaster compatible with NIS 2010? This will be a major factor in my decision over whether to get NIS 2010 or stay with NIS 2009 as both programs work fine with NIS 2009.

5. Why are Symantec not refunding the shipping charge since the disk didn't end up getting shipped to me?! How hard is it to put a disk in an envelope/Jiffy bag and send it to someone anyway?! It shouldn't still e dragging on after more than 2 months surely.

I would really appreciate any advise you have about whether or not to upgrade and a trouble-free (as far as possible) of upgrading. Thanks.
