That is to show the difference between trying to upload a jpeg file & a pdf file. jpeg displays the graphical contents of the file whereas a pdf shows only the file name, not the graphical content & that is the one that works

I mostly use Gadwin Print Screen, have tried Snipping Tool, both not working. Last time, admittedly
a couple of years or so go, would have used Gadwin which has a choice of 6 output types. When got a few minutes will try a few of the others. Formats PNG, BMP, JPEG, GIF, TIF & EXIF
I’ll take a look.
Try A word document
Word Tif image.docx (24.4 KB)
Appears only Word & PDF works for me. - All others come up with error although file types apparently allowed.
Your comment playing with GPS ?
TEST “PDF”
When “Test send PDF.pdf” is opened, what happens to the file?
a) it appears as a tab in the Internet browser (e.g. Edge) like a picture?
b) or it appears in the download folder where it can then be opened? That’s the case for me ![]()
The file can be just viewed in Word (Word automatically opens it) or, actually saved to your computer as a Word file by pressing ‘Save As’. and saving to a location decided by yourself on computer. Likewise for a PDF document.
Yeah, I posted a few snips [here] [here] using/playing with Gadwin Print Screen (GPS). Sorry, I wasn’t clear.

Thanks for response.
Sorry about that - did not cotton on ‘GPS’ - severe case of old age. Still comes with error when I try it, either uploading or pasting captured image. ‘Can’t embed media items in a post’ - (authorised extensions: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, heic, heif, webp, avif, svg, txt, pdf, doc, docx, csv, encrypted). Never heard of a lot of these formats - tried all common formats - only ones that work are pdf & docx
We’ll try to call attention:
Thanks

Just tested other emails from community - all other included graphics come up with same issue although open in Edge Browser - my head hurts.
If you have edit time…mask your email address.
If no edit time. We’ll ask Mods to mask your email address.
Thanks for that - missed that - cheers
The saga continues - if I right click a graphic in Office Outlook received from community, copy hyperlink address & paste into Edge address bar, can view graphic in edge.
An attempt JPG graphic from Windows 8.1 Laptop using Google Chrome also failed
with same error
