Uploading Screen shots in new thread/replies

What file types can be uploaded from computer - have a JPJ/JPEG file but does not accept when going thru’ upload button above?

Norton 360 Deluxe Version 22.24.7.8

OS details: Windows 11 Version 23H2

Tried Snipping Tool as suggested by bjm in another post - still does accept

Tried Drag & drop - cannot embed in post

PDF Screen shot.pdf (16.5 KB)

fwiw ~ copy/paste

and with my snip tool - png file

bjm
My copy & paste says cannot embed. only thing that works is PDF document created from a screen shot.

Tried uploading PNG file - comes up with error can’t embed although graphic appears on right of of this posting screen. Likewise if try to copy & paste file.

@mgirons
Are you blocking any Norton pages content?

Do you run VPN?

@bjm

No pages blocked - do not use VPN

Doesn’t work for me either

Error message
An error occurred: Sorry, you cannot embed media elements in a post.

But I found a way to make images visible via a link to an image host.

then…I’m head scratch…upload &or copy/paste has worked for me since new Community went live

Me as well - it’s probably me - based in UK - tried all suggestions - only one the works seem to PDF. Tried 2 different capture apps - png, jpg etc. all come up with ‘An error error occurred. Sorry you can’t embed media items in a post’. This just came up with a copy & paste. like all others reported
It UPLOADS the image , which displays as the image in the right pane OK when I PASTE IT, error appears as soon press REPLY button.

If you don’t know answer must be serious issue. (for me anyway)

What browser?
I’m using Edge on W10

I’m on Windows 11 23H2, latest patch Tuesday installed yesterday. Windows 11 upgraded from 10 6 months ago - previous postings of images etc all done on Windows 10 OK.

Are you using the up arrow icon in the edit tools?

What may be disconcerting is that it just appears as a link in the edit window, but the image will appear in the post.

Yes, I used the Up Arrow
There is already a post about this

fwiw ~ I do not use the right preview window

As soon as you type anything in main left hand window it replicates in right hand window. Likewise the uploaded graphic also appears there, error happens when pressing reply.

Being able to embed images via an off site link is extremely dangerous for the forums. That is an issue that needs to be looked at ASAP!!

@Gayathri_R Please look into this security issue regarding off site screenshot link embedding.

SA

Tried using Firefox - exactly same effect including error.

Another upload test done with a PDF
Test send PDF.pdf (82.8 KB)

Just needs to be opened/downloaded with PDF reader

close the right side window &or expand left side window
