Does anyone know if a User Manual exists for Norton Internet Security.
There is something they call a Manual but is a User Guide that really does not explain the product.
I know you can click help and get info, but for me it would be nice to be able to read a manual in
PDF format that explains the various settings etc.
The version I have is Internet Security 2009.
I have previously downloaded this manual, which in fact is called a user guide and really does not tell you much about the product.
It tells you nothing about any of the specific settings and details of the features.
As I mentioned before I know you can click on the help and get info, but I much rather read through a manual.
It looks like one hasn’t been produced. I don’t recall seeing any kind of a manual and I’ve been using Norton products for about 10 years.

I haven't seen a user manual for awhile either. In place of the user manual I have printed the "Norton Help Center" which is about 110 pages.
Open your Norton Product > Help Support > Help. This will get you to the Norton Help Center.
Print the selected Headings (Norton Help Center) and all subtopics.

And for those that can create a PDF version, the manual can then be saved on the computer for easy access.

On my NIS 2009 product disk there is a directory \MANUAL\Help.pdf 2547kb which is a 289 page “Norton Internet Security Product Manual.” It’s much more detailed than the “Users Guide,” (HELP.PDF) but it doesn’t really define, for example what things like UDP user datagram protocols, etc are. Have you looked through this document? Art
I dowloaded the trial version and then I bought a key so I don't have a disk with the PDF file you spoke of.
Sounds interesting to me. I have no idea how I could get my hands on the PDF file.

But this is only a short version (38 pages)... I didn't found the long version anywhere....
There isn’t one; I checked the FTP site also and found what you did. If anyone is interested, I’m working on printing the Help file as a pdf document. At least that would be in place and could be printed by users or commented with pdf editors.
Now that would be a good item for a sticky post, so we could all have a look.
I have made a PDF file of the help file in NIS2009. If anyone is interested, reply here or PM me. The file is about 370KB (probably too large for the forum posting) and if there is enough interest in this (and the MODs allow it) I will post it on a file sharing location and make it available to all.
