Hello all.
In the past have used my Norton ghost 15 to recover my hard drive on my laptop. I used an external hard drive through the usb port and it worked successfully. The hard drive on my laptop has now failed. I have installed a new western digital 500 gb sata hd. When i checked, this was recognised in the bios of my computer. I cannot now get Norton ghost to transfer the saved back up to my new hard drive. I have read and tried to implement the advice given on here regarding restoring my system and I have failed. My experience and knowledge on doing this are not enough. This is a pity as I had hoped and wrongly understood, that when my hard drive failed, I would be able to use norton ghost to restore my saved data to a new hard drive. So my first question is do Norton have any way of doing this for me remotely? Secondly, failing this, if I take it to the local computer repair shop, what would be a fair price to pay for someone doing it for me, that is assuming that it can be done? I live in the u.k.
Thanks.
Les.
