Hi - My Samsung mobile notification bar briefly showed Unknown apk by name prePost-<datestamp> a couple of times. I havent seen this before nor could find this file on my device. Is there anyway Norton 360 App can share any details on this? Thanks
Thanks for reverting .. yes, I have always had this setting for Install from unknown sources turned off .. I have restarted but couldnt find any file on my device ..
I dont use many widgets in general .. but am now wondering if it could be a simple clock widget or something on my device itself by defauly (not installed from Samsung store) .. but I have now removed this also ..
The name started with "PrePost_" followed by what seemed like a Timestamp starting with 2023 but it was lengthy. I unfortunately couldnt note the full name, but if it happens again, I will try to do so ..
This seemed an Android notification and didnt seem related to any Internet browsing activity. In fact I noticed this when I picked up my phone after a while .. also I rarely surf on Chrome or other browsers on my device
yes, I have always had this setting for Install from unknown sources turned off .. Thanks !
This is most likely a Samsung or other third party widget downloading. Check your security settings for allowing downloads from other sources being enabled. I would disable it. Also look in your downloaded files for the file and remove it if its present. Restart your device.

What name is being shown?
Is this notification from Norton or just an Android notification?
Does this notification appear while browsing the internet? If so, is it always when on the same website? It could be a malformed ad trying to install something.
Be sure your security settings in Android are set to not allow installing apps from unknown sources.
