hi,
yes, 15.5.0.23 is stable and have been running it for a couple weeks on my own laptop with no trouble. we eat our own cooking, so to speak :-) now if only FF 3.0 was stable! i keep running into a bug where it disappears about every hour or so (even when identity safe and the norton toolbar were not present pre-15.5 install). it kindly restores my session afterwards, but it's an unwelcome surprise. ah well...
thanks for the kind words regarding support and appreciate you joining the forum!

Dave,
I'd like to repeat what I've said before and what I'm sure I'll say again and that is how much as a user I appreciate the open-ness with which Norton is talking with us about real situations with the Norton Products and not some fantasy world where "Our product has been widely tested and is perfect so it must be: select from a b or c .... " <g>
In this particular case you have patiently and more than once explained exactly why .50 was not automatically installed and why it was not flagged by LiveUpdate as an important update that will not be automatically installed but should be interactively installed by the user.
So thanks again.

Dear huwyngr,
As per my reply to you as per another thread. Symentec should inform users of the updates (15.5) so that users do not have to hunt high and low for it.
I know that version 15.5 is too large for LiveUpdate. But Symentec could offer a link via their website to download and install, instead of users seeking this forum for those information.
I hope Tony Weiss get the message and Symentec can change.
Thank you
And as we all have been told several times there are valid reasons why in this specific instance it was not automatically installed and why the normal practice of a notice on your computer from Live Update that an important update was available and should be installed was suspended.
So let's leave it that Norton are doing the right thing and have been doing what you want unless there is a valid reason for doing otherwise.

Dear huwyngr,
Once again, Dave has given me any explaination to the matter. And let you say, the "open-ness" of this forum and Norton Techincal personnels makes discussions fruitful.
I can consider this thread CLOSE and I am happy with it.
Thank you

Dear Dave,
Yes, version 15.5.0.23 is definitely working really well. I am not extremely keen in using Norton Toolbar with FF3. Therefore, I am not really concerned about that.
On the other hand, I am looking forward to NIS2009. I heard it is a vastly improved engine.
Once again, thank you for your help, and of course everyone from this forum.
Proud to have you as friend.
Take Care and Thank you.
I would just like to point out that I got the Norton Internet Security 2008 Update from LiveUpdate, so I do not know why some people are saying that they are not getting this Update via LiveUpdate.
The Newer Version will be better than the older one and it should Fix problems that have been reported to symantec about the 2008 Version.
Could someone tell me what the Norton Confidential Update updated that was Released this week (week starting Monday, June 23, 2008).
