View Recent History

Using NIS ver. 20.4.0.40 on Windows 8.

 

Quite often whin I right click on the NIS icon in the Notification Area and select "View Recent History" nothing happens. At other times it works.

 

There seems to be no particular conditions when there is no acton.

 

How do I get this to work?

If you feel you must look at logs, perhaps you can try opening up the program and go to history and then you can scroll down to the recent history. However, unless your computer gets a warning or is acting weird, there is really no need to keep looking at logs.My son is always telling me to quit looking at logs and you will have more peace of mind.

When this situation exists I also can't see the logs when I open NIS. Clicking on History does nothing.

I'd follow dickevans Super Trojan Terminator's suggestion above, and update both OS and NIS, or at least I'd try updating NIS as this could fix your issue.

 

You can update it by following the instructions in this Product Update Announcement. At the end please run LiveUpdate until it says no more updates are found, then reboot the computer.

 

If you use Identity Safe, before trying any Product Version Updates, backup/export your data using the CSV format for compatibility, just in case...

I have found that this problem has stopped since I did a full restart on Windows 8. This was required after installing the latest updates.

 

By default Windows 8 does a fast shutdown/startup so this may be the cause of the problem.
