Hey all!
things were running fine, (thank you Norton 360 :)) and windows defender had something pop on on it. Now this is my first time seeing an little "!" pop up so I go to take a peek and see "Win32/PossibleHostsFileHijack" was the problem. I clicked hte "ever so useful" (sarcasim) windows "more informartion" link and it leads me to this:
now alot of good this does with vista :P I tried opening the hosts files and saw nothing but the default "127.0.0.1 localhost:" that Im supposed to see. now I know my question may be non-norton related (I apologize, but feel this problem/possible threat may go hand in hand) first off, I dont click suspicious links, I was made aware by a friend whom recently had his machine shot by that infamous linkt p pictures virus that easts ones machine alive. Thankfully, my messanger that I do use is limited to business contacts and my security is at maximum, so I never had that problem. My question is- is this something norton wont pick up as a virus or trogan?
Also, it may be unrelated but how does one remove this problem? I've googled pages on pages and it comes upolder posts on so called non reliable sites (I dont rust too many :P) its been reported as a possible trogan on others, so what exactly is it with norton, if anything?
thanks for any help in advance! :)
