Vista Parental Controls Enabled and No emails

I have two issues.  First, under "Activity", there is a message that is highlighted in RED that says "Vista Parental Controls Has Been Enabled."  Do you know what this means?  I do have Parental Controls on both machines my kids use, in addition to Norton Family Safety Minder.  Not sure why it's listed in RED  and curious if if means that they are somehow hacking around the Vista Parental Controls....

 

Also, I WAS receiving emails every time my chilren logged on, were blocked, etc., but now I'm not.  Their settings remain the same as they were.  Thanks.

Nothing to worry about. You worry when it tells you it's been disabled! LOL

 

Sometimes I get the red warnings about PC clock been changed. It's the system doing things to itself.

 

Check the notification settings are still correct. You will only get an e-mail based upon the criteria you choose under the "Nofitication Settings" tab.

 

If it's all correct and you should have received an e-mail then check your e-mail spam filter. Failing that, you may need to install OnlineFamily Norton again on the relevant systems including your own.

Thank you - I got the time change one also. 

 

As for the notification, I have it set up to notify me of everything.  Nothing in my spam file.  I'll double check it all.  Thanks.

To avoid any potential conflict with other parental products, we recommend that you should only install Norton Safety Minder on the PC and uninstall the existing Norton Parental contrl Add-On Pack or any other paretnal products.  That's the reason that program shows a warning message" Visat parental Contrls Has Been enabled" in red under Activity.

 

What is the Safety Minder Version on the PC (The latest version is 1.2.1.7 and you can determine this by right clicking on the Norton Safety Minder icon in the System tray and selecting About Norton Safety Minder)

 

Please let us know if you still experience any issues after uninstall the existing parental Control Add-ON Pack.

You mentioned in your original post "I do have Parental Controls on both machines my kids use, in addition to Norton Family Safety Minder".  I'm sorry if I misunderstood you.  I assumed the "parental Controls" you talked about were the Norton Parental control Add-On Pack.

Oh, I meant Vista Parental Controls.

Ok, that's the parental controls built into Windows Vista.  Please turn it off to make sure Norton Safety Minder work correctly.

Okay , I'll try that, but not sure why it was sending me emails initially, but now isn't.

Please make sure you have the appropriate boxes checked for receiving emails under Settings -> Notify.

 

What email account do you use for OnlineFamily account (Yahoo, Gamail, your ISP)?

 

What happens if you add an email to the "Send Email Notifications to" under Settings -> Notify.  Can you receive the notification emails on the account?
