Running Windows 11 Home, version 23H2, 64 bit, 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz, with 8Gb RAM. Norton 360 is auto-updated.
I tend not to use the VPN except when in vulnerable public situations because it tends to slow down usage. However, recently in France I set it on and left it on when I returned to the UK. I now find that emails sent via Outlook 2019 which have Word or JPEG attachments (but not so far PDF or Excel attachments) are sent - as evidenced by appearing in Outlook's Sent folder - but are never delivered. If such an email is resent with the VPN turned off, it does get through. Emails sent without such attachments do get through even when the VPN is on.
No error messages received. The reproducability of this fault has been checked with test emails sent from this computer to another family owned computer on a different email address. For other recipients, the only way to know if an email has got through is to check with the recipient. Not satisfactory.
This saga has however revealed a solution to another problem which may or may not be related to the email problem. This laptop has always been unable to connect to any Microsoft or Morzilla website via wifi to the home router. Connecting it directly to the router by Cat 5 cable allows reliable access to these sites. If the VPN is switched on, it can connect via wifi.
Any ideas?
