VPN blocking BT Mail

This is a problem for which there appears to be no satisfactory solution. With VPN on, incoming mail from BT is blocked when using Windows Mail client. Google search shows the only solution is to switch off VPN to access mail.

Hello Puthiva. Since installing the current N360 (New) product I have not had a single instance where the VPN has blocked a website from loading. Norton firewall may be the culprit due to detection. Conversely. Websites themselves, and/or services being offered are blocking access to those sites and services due to masked IP addresses within the VPN being detected on their part. I wouldn't think there will be a "solution" in that regard on the part of Norton or any other VPN providers since they don't have any control of it.

Cheers

Not only emails, VPN blocks many websites too. No solution so far.

Many users here have noted this issue. What is happening is that your email provider, BT, is detecting  an access attempt to your account from a location you do not usually use. This happens when you have the VPN active. So to protect your account, access is blocked. The only suggestion is to contact BT Support to see if they have any suggestions to allow you to use a VPN.

And it is not just BT, but many other email providers. I have difficulty with my Gmail accounts when using the VPN.
