Issue abstract: I couldn’t set an exception for a Windows app: Dynamic Theme
Detailed description: On the Norton VPN settings, there is an excluded apps option with a list to edit. However, that opens a File Explorer window that wants to find the path to the app executable.
Problems: Where is the executable? If it’s Windows app, you don’t have access to that folder.
Product & version number: Norton 360 Advanced
OS details:Windows 11 Home 24H2
What is the error message you are seeing?
I have a solution: You can get the path for the app from the task manager. Right-click on the app icon and go to properties. If the path is under Program Files\WindowsApps officially you’re not allowed in, but you can put the WindowsApps\ as a prefix on your file name. Then, apparently, you can see into the app’s files and find the executable. That’s what the VPN wants.
This all looks good, but I have to admit I’m waiting for Dynamic Theme to update through the VPN, tomorrow.
I thought I could post this, because it looks like a solution, by a slightly unintuitive route. I hope this is true, and I hope this is helpful.
