I have Norton VPN on a laptop using Windows. I will be in Canada and have access to WiFi. I want to watch Peacock and my You Tube TV by signing in to my accounts via the WiFi on the laptop. I understand that I need to have a VPN to do this in Canada and my Norton comes with a VPN. Has anyone in the community used the Norton VPN in Canada to watch streaming services that are only available in the U.S.? Do I just turn the VPN on and go to the site and log in?
Peacock has free content?
I thought Peacock’s free tier was removed?
Looks like you are correct. It has been a long time since I signed up for Peacock and at that time I was able to view the free episode of some shows. I just tried again and clicking on the free episode just goes to a black screen. I was never able to sign up for a full subscription because I needed a US address for that.
So @L W McWherter it looks like you will have to contact both provider's support to see what your options are.
Do you know how I can find out if Peacock or You Tube TV will or will not allow VPN traffic?
Thanks.
The only way is for someone in Canada to test. To date I have tested Peacock from Canada using the VPN set to United States and am able to stream the free content.
I just looked at Youtubetv and it requires an account to access the content that I am not willing to set up. Maybe another Canadian has tried this. You could try contacting the support for this service and explain your situation and ask them if they allow VPN's.
Yes just turn on VPN and go the site for login. Make sure your region is set to USA.
It however may be the case that the website you are visiting does not allow VPN traffic and will deny you some service and / or slow you down to a crawl.
