VPN & Network Shares

I have a small business network with 10 laptops and 1 sbs 2003 server.  The laptops are using Norton 360 Business Suite.

The problem we are having is when the laptops are connecting to the server via a VPN connection, the laptops take a very long time to display any of the files on the network shares.  I am assuming this is due to Norton (on the laptops) scanning the share's files before displaying the files to the laptop.  How do I get Norton to not do this?

All the files on the network shares are being scanned and monitored by the sbs server so they are safe.

Also, I have noticed that when the laptops are in the office and connected to the server, there is a Windows Process "CMD.EXE" that is always running.  Sometimes this takes up 10-20% of the laptops CPU's.  Is there anyway to stop this from always running?

Thanks

You need to add the network computers to Full Trust in Network Security Map. You can find the steps here:

Ok.  I have set both by home network and VPN tunnel to "Full Trust", and no luck.  Any folders on the network share that haven't been cached before still take awhile to display.

Any other ideas?
