Hi,
With regard to VPN's I accept that it can be deactivated if the wifi connection flucuates too much however it would be great to receive a notification that it is off. Is there such a notication?
thanks

Thanks for your response.
When you say the lower corner I assume you mean the bottom right system tray. If so then it does not show any Norton status unless I click on the up arrow and then click on Norton. I can change it there but I need to be able to see a disconnection status on my desktop.
I turned off the VPN then ran Smartscan and no issues were found. It didnt report the VPN not on
I ran autofix on my Norton 360 (with the VPN off) and no issues were found.
thanks again
John
in general you should or did at some point ( not noticed in awhile) a notice in lower corner if you vpn is connected or if it tells you to turn on the vpn ( un secure wifi connection for example)
if the wifi connection you are using is stable ( as in doesnt cut off or whatever) i dont see why the vpn would be turning itself off
you may want to run
in scans at bottom diagnostic report , should be all green
second the auto fix
in classic mode top tight click help in window at left click get support
that may or may not show a issue ( sometimes it is a installation issue
