I'm SirRen and I'm new here at Virus-aholic's anonymous I'm infected on 2 of the 4 computers I run from a home network. I've reloaded one completely and damned if after Symantec was installed. an hour later I started getting files that were getting cleaned again (infected). I've read all post and ran the virus tool in safe mode and it says it terminated 2 occurrences of the virut.CF. Rebooted as directed and ran Symantec scan in normal mode were it promptly started scrolling a list of infections cleaned AGIAN! Doing another scan in safe mode and again it comes up with hundreds of cleaning files as I write this entry now.
What the heck am I missing here.....This time I did have 1 entry with 30 registry infections that said failed to clean so I action delete them this time on the fly. I don't dare put these 2 computers on my home network till they are clean and resolved.
What am I missing? Running removal tool from (clean) USB stick in safe mode. Downloaded it twice to make sure tool isn't infected? Everytime I run it on infected computer it always finds 2 occurrences and tells me to reboot. Yes I have system restore off!
I'm ashamed to tell you that I support networks for a living.......Does anyone have that matchbook with the truck driving add on it?
