No, I’ve been with Norton for years!! The last update in Oct/24 is when this has started happening! There are people all over this Community that are complaining about this but nothing gets done!
Me too. I tried the Repair option on Uninstall and that didn’t work. So I uninstalled completely. After it restarted it just asked me to download Norton 360 again. Which I did. I’m not sure if it ever did download properly. Anyway, whether it did or not, it was certainly not running, and when I pulled the application up I just got “license expired” from the original trial period. Reluctantly, I clicked on “Activate” and it went away and found my current subscription and I clicked to activate that. Then it spun and spun saying “Activating” before eventually giving up and saying “High Risk” and asking me to buy a new license
Well, like I said, I’ve been with Norton for years but that’s coming to an end!! It’s their fault from the last update and I’m not trying any of their fixes. Paid big bucks for this and THEY NEED to fix it.
After trying to activate the second time it spun around again and then said “server failed.” But somewhere in the process it started running! I have not encountered the error since.
However, that is not the end of the story as I ended up with two Norton utilities (one says Norton Security and one says Norton Internet Security) and if I try to open either of them, once again it fails. However, Task Manager does seem to show that they are running (or were – I decided to uninstall again!!!)
All: If you have tried removal of the install did you use this removal tool for version 24.xx ? If not please use it and do removal only in the settings that appear. Reboot. Then find and remove all folders that may be left from the removal and reboot again.
Log into your Norton account and remove the license that you just had installed on the device you removed Norton from. Next, download your product again from within your Norton account.
