I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I couldn't find any other way to get help on SafeWeb site verification.I have a web site www.goody4paws.com using Microsoft's Office Live service.
The site shows up with a "gray circle" rating. I created an account for Safe Web but cannot verify because Office Live doesn't allow me to place files directly in the root file directory , so I can't put the authentication file in root. Is there any other way to get the site tested so it shows up with a green check?
I do not see any reference to the Safe Web code on your homepage. Can you tell me which method you used to add the code?
Based upon your source code, it appears you are using Yahoo! Site Builder. To the best of my knowledge, this program will not allow you direct access to your Root Directory.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

Not sure if this is the place to post this question, but I am a newbie and need some help! I am trying to verify my web site, and have followed all the instructions. My site is viewable, but when I try to verify it, I get the following message. Web site ownership verification failed. Copy the auth file to the root directory of your Web site or copy the meta_tag into your Web site`s home page. What do I need to do? Any suggestions will be greatly accepted!
Okay, I can see the code. But notice the gradient formatting on the page? It means that the HTML file was not created or uploaded properly.
However, there should be enough information there for the Safe Web team to manually verify ownership. Leave everything as is, and I will notify them. Allow the team a day or two to respond back to you in this thread.
Your the Man! Thank you! Question: Prior to trying to have my web site verified and safety rated, when I did a google search it always was about 3rd from the top. Now its on the second page, and says BLANK. Do you know, did I do something to screw it up in a search engine. Once again, thanks a million!
