And how do you know that other programs remove everything they "should"? Try running RevoUninstaller and comparing what it finds with what a normal uninstall does -- Revo runs 4 successive clean ups each of which, in my experience, finds more each time.

Did he say that it did find something when run only once? If it did, what is Symantec’s explanation?  I have a feeling this multiple-run thing is mostly urban legend, part of the more-is-better philosophy. Surely if it was important, the program would say something like “Sorry buster, we couldn’t get it all. Do us the favor of running it again after rebooting, won’t you?  Have a nice day.”  But it doesn’t, right?  If I was in Symantec support, and this was important, I’d certainly make sure that functionality was written into the program. Think how many problems it might prevent. It would be good business.
