What am I supposed to do about a blocked activehealth.sys?

I keep getting told about activehealth.sys being blocked. How do I fix the issue or at least stop the message from coming up all the time.

Hello @WayneTrain
Norton 360 v22 or v24?
activehealth.sys? or activehealth.exe?
can you post screenshot? re: activehealth.sys being blocked
blocked by Norton Product Tamper Protection?
HP machine?
OS details: ?

Google > for what it’s worth:

as test: installed HP Support Assistant on dust collector HP lappy.
I’m not finding activehealth.exe nor .sys

All: A screenshot of what the OP sees would be of great help!!

Edited: I found this older thread on the HP forums. Norton tamper protection is generally blocking AH from accessing Norton files and processes. Excluding that process from scans won’t stop tamper protection from alerting you. If you don’t require Active Health for anything that runs on your computer I would just remove it. HP is known for its bloatware and its intrusive nature.

Thanks. Just waiting for block screen to appear again. Am running Windows 10 on HP Laptop. I can’t actually see Activehealth in my apps list.

Here is the screen.

Thanks for your help. But I don’t want to turn that setting off for security reasons. I thought to remove HP Support Assistant but I am not allowed. I am also not allowed to update it to perhaps fix any problems with it. I have tried stopping the service but am also not allowed. I don’t mind Norton blocking the driver, it but does it have to keep on telling me every time my computer wakes up? I might just have to put up with it.

Hello @WayneTrain
If you trust HP Support Assistant >
Ya’ turn that setting off to allow an exception to load this driver. Then ya’ turn that setting back on and see if Norton remains satisfied.

Hello @WayneTrain
not allowed??

Try one of the following solutions to uninstall HP Support Assistant from your computer. [here]

If you have a login with admin privileges you should be able to remove HP support assistant. You said you aren’t allowed to remove or update it, why? Company owned device or a personal device?

Thanks but neither of these worked. When you reach the list of apps to remove, you don’t see HP Support Assistant , but there is HP Support Framework. If you try to remove this it says you are not allowed because it is required for HP Support Assistant. I have admin privilege.

This is a personal device. But I think HP has some sort of protection built in to stop certain things being removed.

You should be able to just tell it to remove it. HP support assistant isn’t needed in most cases for a PC or laptop to function properly. Remove one and both should be removed in the same manner. HP support assistance can be removed in the same fashion.

I am not exactly sure what has happened but somehow in my attempts to remove the products (none of which actually succeeded) the background service (which I unsuccessfully tried to stop) has been disabled. I have had no instances of the popup since. Not sure I would treat this as success but if it continues, it will do. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Thanks for the post back. Make sure you have rebooted the PC at least once and recheck. Glad we could assist.

Thanks for the advice. I rebooted and the service was running again. So I was able to disable it on startup. Rebooted to test that and it has stayed disabled. I think I am now in the clear. Thanks again.

You are most welcome!! Glad to help. I’ve had issues posting replies lately thus the tardy reply.
