What happened? Am I protected or not?

Severly confused...

I had expected my NIS license to expire today. I have another license here that I intend to use. 5 days ago I did get a pop-up box telling me I had 5 days left. My wife also has NIS 2014 on her computer as we used 2 of the 3 permitted licenses on these 2 computers, her's and mine.

Today I get THIS e-mail from Norton:

EXPIRATION NOTIFICATION

Dear Irv,
Our records indicate that your subscription to Norton™ Internet Security expired on December 24, 2013.

Therefore, you are no longer receiving automatic updates that protect you against the latest threats, including viruses, spyware, hackers and identity thieves.

If you are browsing, banking, shopping, connecting to a wireless network, or doing anything on the Internet, we highly recommend you renew your subscription now and get the new Norton Internet Security.
=======================

I lost it 5 days ago?

Wow! How did that happen?

Next checked my on-line account. This license I have to 2013 doesn't show? Matter of fact, my account shows 3 NIS's, with the last activated 3/2011

Well, NIS itself says it was renewed already?

What gives?

I'm RELUCTANT to add my new license now as it might be lost. No, there was NO AUTOMATIC RENEWAL done that I know of, and it was never enabled or a charge card given.

Take your product key out of your post!!!

Hello

I've notified the mods to remove your personal information which should not be revealed in a public forum.. Since your wife put in a new subscription key on Christmas, you should not enter your new product as that would cancel out your wife's new account. You can save your key for next year and use your key for the version 22 product. You wife probably has a Norton account also. You got the email since your account expired, but your wife entered a key which is in her account. Just ignore the email as your computers are covered. Thanks.

That is a partial product key for a real expired NIS product. Present one is different. No need to delete as I shortened before posting.

Hmm, just went and looked at my account via NIS and manually from the web. Now both show the same data? Did NOT this morning?

Sorry, turns out my wife updated BOTH systems on Christmas day.

Still confused some, why the e-mail?

If I open from the web site my account (sign-in)  I don't see all the products, like the one I have now listed? Yet if I go to my account via NIS I get to a different place, and see not only the NIS I have now but 2 others that have expired and 2 more products I had, N360 and Save and Restore...

When you enter the new key, it is activating a new subscription as opposed to renewing the current one.

You received the email because the old key/subscription you were using did expire. You may still get a few more emails that should stop after 30 days. If you want to stop those sooner, you may  be able to get the support people to help. Contact them via online chat here   www.norton.com/chat
