Out of curiosity I would like to know what will happen when my NIS 2012 subscription expires.
Will NIS continue to run? I suppose LiveUpdate will stop working. Am I right?

Hi Lisa,
Please do not let your subscription expire. If you do, everything stops. You will no longer receive any updates. The program is only as good as it's latest updates. Countless threats are released daily that Norton has to keep up with. You would be vulnerable to everything.
Keeping your subscription current and active, allows you to upgrade for free to the newer releases.

Hi Lise54,
Allow me to reiterate what Ed mentioned - "everything stops".
NIS will no longer function at all and Windows will notify you that your Antivirus protection and Firewall have been turned off.
I second the advice to keep your subscription current.
