What is diStRptr in NIS2011?

Just curious as to what the module(?) diStRptr is and what it does?
There was an erntry on this in my Norton Error Reporting log.
Now I know items in this log are of no worry to me. I’'m just wondering what it is and what it does

I googled "distrptr" and according to the article here on the Is This File Safe site, this is Symantec's Stat Reporter Job Worker.  Just based on the description I'd have to guess that this module is used by the Norton Community Watch feature when it's making statistical submissions to the Symantec servers.  Maybe you had a temporary connection problem to the Symantec servers and the submission failed.

 

Hopefully someone else in the forum will be able to provide a definite answer.  You'd have to post the Module ID and Error ID in the Norton Error Reporting log if you require more info.

thanks, maybe i spaced out di st rptr when I googlled and that is why I found nothing.
I’ll see if I wrote down the error ID and module ID somewhere, as I’ll be away from my PC awhile
