What Procedure Do I Follow for Recycling a Computer That's Been Backed Up?

Hi, I’ve a desktop PC whose data has been backed up to Norton. I am planning on recycling the computer, a desktop.

After I remove the computer’s hard drive, can I just leave the back up with Norton indefinitely and retrieve it later? Do I need to first download the data from Norton or from the PC to an external hard drive and then de-authorize the computer or something before removing the PC’s hd?

I guess I am looking for an end-of-computer-life guide with Norton but I couldnt find one on Norton’s site. TIA

As for the backup sets you already have in the cloud. They will remain there unless you delete them or close your Norton account. Once you have disposed the old PC you can gain access to those backup if you have an active Norton account. This guide steps through what to expect:
