I’m paying around $150/year for basic Norton subscription. But the product that’s running in the background on my laptop makes it seem like I have no protections at all. Every day I get several messages saying I’m wide open to all kinds of things making my laptop unsafe and saying I need to upgrade to one of many different options and add-ons to be protected. So my question is…am I really protected at all for the $150/year? It seems like the only thing Norton does for me is identify threats and tell me I’m NOT protected against tons of stuff.
@Rick_Hauser What product version do you have installed? Here is some general information regarding what Norton says they protect you against.
Note: The notifications you are getting are nothing more than sell-ups embedded into the products now. Marketing driven and not necessarily what customers need. Norton should be protecting you as its stated on the product data page without all the snake-oil sellup tactics. Just ignore them or better yet disable those. Look for something similar to the screenshot below to disable most annoyances.
