What's Going On?

Up until Aug. 9 (when the upgraded version of Norton Security Suite appeared) my computer (OS: Windows 7 Professional/Browser: Firefox/Internet Provider: Comcast) worked just fine. Since this new Norton however, I find I can no longer put my computer to sleep as I do when I am going to be away from the computer. Before, I could put the computer to sleep, step away for as little as 15 min., come back and simply jiggle the mouse to get the computer to wake up. Not anymore - and further, although the computer indicates it's on, I get a "no signal" on the monitor. I have to manually shut the computer off then manually turn it back on - a real pain. I'd (obviously) like to have the prior version of Norton rather than this new one. I have no need or intention of upgrading to Windows 10 - Windows 7 is just fine for what I use my computer for (which does not include any music/movies/tv streaming). How do I get the old version of Norton back so that I'm not having to shut the computer down every time I'm going to leave the computer for just a short while? And talk to me like I'm 10 with clear instructions so that I don't do any damage in trying to resolve this. Thanks in advance for any help given! smiley
