When is End-of-Support for Firefox ESR on Win XP and Vista?

Has anyone heard if Mozilla has made an official announcement about when they're discontinuing support for Firefox ESR (extended support release) on the Win XP SP3 and Vista SP2 platforms?  None of the Mozilla blogs I've been following mention any specific date and the support article Important - Firefox is ending support for Windows XP and Vista still says:

"...Firefox security updates for XP and Vista users will continue until September 2017, although new features will not be offered. In mid-2017, a final support end date will be announced based on the number of users still on Windows XP and Vista..."

I received today's scheduled update to FF ESR v52.4.0 but after reading Rainbow_2's thread Mozilla whips out Rusty new Firefox Quantum (and that's a good thing) about the major changes coming in FF 57 I'm beginning to wonder if Mozilla is planning to pull the plug on XP/Vista before FF 57 / FF ESR 52.5 is released on 14-Nov-2017.

Mozilla to End All Firefox Support for XP and Vista in June 2018...

Hi photo308:

Thanks for the links.  Per those articles, the official Mozilla announcement of 04-Oct-2017 can be found on their Future Releases blog at Update on Firefox Support for Windows XP and Vista.

Hi imacri.
Current news indicates the following.

Mozilla to End All Firefox Support for XP and Vista in June 2018

That's the 'NEWS'. I don't do the 'Weather Forecast'. Alright, I've had a look out of the window. It's raining in London, UK.

I still haven't found a definitive answer, but the best "official" information I've been able to find is Mozilla bug 1319164 [Message XP/Vista users to inform them that support/security updates have ended (2018 Q1)].  According to Mozilla Support forum admin Tyler Downer's posts in the thread what is the final security update end date after current Vista users review of Sept 2017? that means that Firefox ESR v52.8 (scheduled for release 01-May-2018) will likely be the last ESR update that is compatible with Win XP/Vista.

So, what's the 'pros & cons' of keep running a Vista machine ?

Hi photo308:

I don't want this thread to go off topic and turn into a debate about the wisdom of using computers with unsupported operating systems.  All I'm concerned about at the moment is finding out the date that Mozilla is going to end support Firefox ESR on the Win XP and Vista platforms.

I'm running an old '32-bit Vista Home Premium SP2 ¦ Firefox ESR v52.4.0 ¦ NS v22.10.110 ¦ Norton ConnectSafe, P1', as a reserve project. But is it safe ?
I've loaded all the 'Windows Server 2008' updates manually, that will install; since the end of 'Vista-Updates'.
Having read your posts. You have a much better grasp of the I.O.T 'et al', than I'll ever have.
So, what's the 'pros & cons' of keep running a Vista machine ?
