When my current subscription expires - I will be using a competitors product

I have two computer's in my household linked with Norton products,

I miss the old days where you weren't spammed multiple times a day with the intrusive popup's that norton puts on, its constantly in your face, selecting Dont Show Me This Again - Does nothing, it literally does nothing, in fact its more of a waste of time than hitting the little X, going into administrative settings and disabling product notifications, does nothing, having critcal alerts only enabled does nothing, silent mode only lasts temporarily so in effect - does nothing.

This software is literally Adware, its simply a joke, today I got fed up with it, one of our computers is connected to our main TV, we do not have a smart TV, so we use it for Netflix, Prime, Disney+ etc, imagine the annoyance when you're watching something full screen, and a pop up, shows up whilst something is playing fullscreen and is blocking 1/6th the screen, and this after you just sat down after putting the movie on, the fact that it can show through fullscreen applications such as this is frankly what drives me nuts, and its happened multiple times, but today was the day I got fed up with this nonsense, imagine my surprise when I re-checked all the settings to ensure all this pop-up trash was disabled and lo-behold it was all disabled, yet still it comes up! HOW!?

I honestly am done with Norton, once this subscription ends ill be changing, I have followed them for years as my old man recommended them, frankly now the fact that you cannot opt out of this marketing madness is insane, its more advertising bloatware than it is virus protection.

Its almost like this scenario - You dont want a bodyguard constantly telling you he's got buddies to help out, just do your job, quietly in the background, only alert me if there is a problem, then I will be happy.

I totally agree with how annoying Norton popups are, and with how selecting "Don't show me this again" gets completely ignored!

It's also maddening that they keep trying to upsell me with that "My Norton" and "Smart Scan" stuff. Wish I could banish those unwanted options from Norton 360.

However, there may be a solution to Norton's notifications intruding on your TV viewing. In Norton, open Settings at the top of the window. In the new window that opens, over on the right you may see a column labeled "Quick Controls." The first setting in the list there is for "Silent Mode." Assuming that this works as expected, this will turn off Norton notifications. I believe it was designed for gamers, but it should also work for people who want to watch TV.

EDIT: Re-reading your post, maybe you already did check that Silent Mode box, and you're still getting interrupted?

Good luck... you may need it!
