I've not had compatibility problems with the 32 bit version of Outlook 2013. The 64 bit version of Outlook likely won't get supported in Norton 2013 products.

Why won't Norton support the 64-bit version? I assume that's the version I have since I'm using Windows 8 64-bit. I guess I'll just keep the Outlook Antispam feature disabled.

Hi, Norton will support x64 outlook at some point. They have only so many people and so many hours to develop and maintain their products. The priority goes to the products and problems that have the greatest impact on their user community.
I'm told that the current market share of the x64 products is growing and will be supported but that they are not a high priority at this time.
Translating that - they know about the need and will address it in their time.
I checked my version of Office 2013 and it is 32-bit (Windows 8 is 64-bit). So I'm still having issues with Norton system tray icon disappearing when I open and close Outlook numerous times unless I disable the antispam feature for Outlook.

I was just going to mention that Windows installs the 32-bit version of Office 2013 by default on 64-bit systems, so you likely have the 32-bit Outlook.
Add me to this list of having the exact same problem. I've even had Outlook 2013 open and then moved the mouse pointer down over the NIS icon in the lower right corner of the screen, only to "see" it disappear. I'm running win 7-64 & the full blown version of Microsoft Office Pro 2013, in 32 bit mode. I was also a long time user Symatec's Corp ver 12 and earlier versions where I used to work, as my employer had a site license for all computers (several thousands) and the license was also good for all staff & students (over 40000 combined). Never had a problem with Office 2013 & ver 12 of the Corporate edition. We need a fix for this, and it looks like this problem has been going on for over a year.
I'm having issues now with previewing Office documents in Outlook 2013 - also protected view isn't working anymore saying any Office attachments are corrupt files. I had to disable settings in the Trust Center to be able to open attachments. This seems to be a major issue out there on message boards and I wonder if all of this is related to Norton and Office 2013 compatibility issues. What a pain.
