Keeping NVP enabled, is the best way to protect yourself heuristically with Norton. That's the way I would go. Others may have different opinions. There are several EMET users who may comment here.
Any thoughts on Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (I use 0.10.3.0100) as an alternative to EMET? A simpler way to get anti-exploit protection .. with virtually no configuration required.

All versions of IE from version 6 up to 11 have been patcched if you have used Windows Update which also includes XP for this update. For some, you have to make sure that another patch is installed first to prrevent IE from crashing under certain versions..
