I have had Norton 360 on my laptop computer running windows 8 since buying it two years ago. Apart from a recent ongoing problem with intermittent ability to run a scan since updating from windows 8 to 8.1 I have been happy with the Norton 360. Last year I renewed via the Norton reminder at a cost of £19.99 (England by the way). This year I am being asked for £64.99 to renew or to get a free? upgrade with more back-up space for the same price.
In the local PC World store I can get "Norton Internet Security" for £22 and "Norton 360 Gold Edition" for £29. I don't know what the difference is and how they differ from what Symantec are offering me for £64.99. I know you can get them cheaper on-line but I'm a bit wary of that.
If the scanning issue gets sorted and I stick with a Symantec product I am wondering what to go for? I have twenty days left to decide.
I only use it on one computer so don't need the multi device feature.
I back-up any files and photo's to a separate drive so I'm not too bothered about the extra back-up space that the upgrade provides. (I currently have the Norton back-up turned off because it has used up the 2GB on my existing product).
I only use the computer for fairly basic stuff like looking for information on the web and the occasional Ebay purchase etc.
Any advice or opinions will be gratefully received.
Happy new year.
