I have been using AntiSpyware (AS) for a couple of years and Norton for many more (under Vista Home Premium). As of recently, Norton IS (v 16.8.0.41) delights in removing AS every time I try to run it. Norton tells me it has found and removed malware.bot, but AS has no such file and when I ask the AS contact line, they say "stop Norton auto-protect before re-loading AS". Coincidentally, when I run AS, it tells me that "Bug Doctor" is malicious software and should be removed. Bug Doctor tell me that AS should stop saying that.
What is it with A/V companies - each is telling me that their rivals have to be removed ?
I'm quite happy with the 3 programs otherwise, and they are not otherwise interfering with each other. How can I stop all this happening?
Help appreciated

Hello dibby44
Welcome to the Norton Users Discussion Forum
If you would like to use 2 programs in conjunction with your Norton product, then you can use the free versions of Malwarebytes and the free version of SuperAntiSpyware. These two programs are good in cleaning up after Norton's and also picking up some things which Norton's may miss. They are on demand scanners which will not interfere with your Norton product. These 2 on demand scanners have to be updated before each use of them. These 2 programs do not have real time components in them which will interfere with Norton products either.
You can find Malwarebytes here

It is a safer location to get the program from than malwarebytes themselves because some malware creators have large lists of sites that they block. Please be careful to down load the correct program ----the FREE version of MALWAREBYTES
(Thanks to Delph for providing the alternative site)
Here is a free on demand antimalware scanner. It is safe to use on demand with your Norton product.

Here is another site you can use to get the program.

The download button is on the right hand side. Please be careful not to download Spyware Doctor which is on the left side. Also, please don't forget to update the program each time before use of it. In fact you can update it every day just in case some malware may prevent you from updating it.
