Why i canceled my subscription

Maybe nobody cares but this is why i canceled Norton after using it for 20 years over a 30year period of time.

  • The New Norton Look/ update uses more resources.
  • I could not end my subscription without ending my ongoing subscription
  • When i want to cancel the site refuse
  • I don’t get a email/message prior payment.
  • i got charged 1.5 month before the end of my term
  • in the last 5 years i pay twice as much as before.
  • Even as a loyal costumer I have to pay 4 to 5 times more for the same product. In stores Norton is alot cheaper.
  • If i now renew my subscription its 55€ less compared what they auto-charge me. I guess i know why, but its not right. and i think i will get “email deals” with good offers in upcoming monhts.
  • I got recommended everywhere to not use Norton.
  • The forced auto-renewel
  • The hassle to get in contact with support
  • Not having the abilty to remove auto-renewel anymore.

Hello @Maxi24

Hello @Maxi24
Note: cancel recurring subscription service…does not cancel current subscription term

Norton support via Social Support | Chat | Phone [here]

Yes, with automatic renewal off…~30+ days before my current term expiry.
I’ve received renew nagging & renew incentives.

it’s not right

=====================================

Norton subscription is like buying a new car or booking vacation/room reservations.
Ya always feel…the guy before you and the guy after you…didn’t pay what you paid.

it’s not right

  • I know were to cancel it just didn’t work…
  • I am not buying a car or booking a hotel. If the price is this i sign if i agree or not. But if i am forced
to sign a subscription that increase often with prices x2 or x4 depending were i buy. i don’t have to agree. Why should i pay 2 or times more if i subscribe…

I understand inflation etc… I also understand this anti-consumer unfriendly sales tactic. Giving deals to get them hooked. make them lazy and some will forget to cancel subscription or stay loyal.
Often the argument is, yeah but that company does this too and that one also…
So be the better company. But I am sure they know the sales loss & profit of this tactic.

  • Not knowing when it renewed was mistake on my part. But i didn’t get the email upfront.
I don’t delete Emails. so i could check all my mails of the last 3 months. Couldn’t find any payment warning mail…
  • Also I can’t delete my payment details anymore without deleting the whole subscription. So if i have 6 months left. They were gone.

Hello @Maxi24
Okay…this is head scratch
I’ve enrolled in and cancelled automatic renewal & removed payment profile several times (including recently) without affecting my current term subscription.

Hello @Maxi24
Please post progress

Note: Unsubscribe…does not stop current paid subscription term

Here are a few things you should know if you stop your subscription from automatically renewing:

  • Your subscription will continue through the end of your already paid subscription term, after which it will end and not automatically renew.
  • It typically takes a few hours from your request for the change to take effect.
  • Any benefits associated with automatically renewing subscriptions may end when you stop your subscription from automatically renewing.
