Although I have used Norton for many years, I have tested Bit Defender and Kaspersky Internet Security feature for feature.
While all have pretty much 100% detection rates, I have found Bit Defender to be heavy on resources and hopeless tech support, and Kaspersky while excellent is full featured, and not for those who like pretty much set and forget anti virus.
It's also buggy from time to time and although it has a good user forum their tech support is hopeless, too.
They also often take a long while to fix issues. No, Norton is NOT alone there !
Norton is not without its problems but generally once set to your liking, will run in the background and go quietly about its business.
It also has a great user support forum, which is one of the main reasons I continue to use Symantec products.
I am not a Symantec employee, just a user like you.
I hope these notes help if you are experiencing problems, and thinking of trying another provider.
