Are you seeing a popup asking you to run the Smart Scan? If so, then there is no way to stop this popup, and all the other popups that Norton's marketing department is bombarding users with.
And there is no way to try to hack the registry to change Norton settings. Norton's Product Tamper Protection feature will not allow any access to or changes to Norton files and settings.
