Wifi Privacy speed dropped

Using Speedtest to check download speed, I noticed a significant decrease in downloading speed compared with Norton Wifi Privacy compared to when disabled. Is this normal acceptable?

If you have tried choosing different countries, and tried reinstalling the NWP, and you still see that much of a speed drop, I would contact Norton Support to see if they can find anything. If they cannot, and you purchased within 60 days, you can request a refund.

I have this same problem.  When I connect to a public WiFi, it turns a 30 Mbps connection into an unusable .5 Mbps  connection.  I uninstalled it from my phone.  I am having too many other problems with my iPhone 6S that I don't need the added aggravation.  When I get my phone straightened out, I plan on trying the above suggestion.  do you have other suggestions?  It also does the same thing on my laptop.  Just yesterday it cut my daughters 47.24 Mbps to 2.7 Mbps.  At least I could still use the internet, though this much of a cut in speed is still unacceptable, in my opinion.

Any ideas would be appreciated.  I will NOT repurchase Norton WiFi privacy if this is the status quo.

If you are seeing that much of a speed drop, I would first start by uninstalling NWP, then restart your device, then reinstall. Then test to see if there is any difference.

From speedtest results I was dropping from over 100mbps ( 92-147) without vpn to 46, 54, 65 download speeds with Norton vpn product. I now am using another company's VPN product and just now got 82 , 89, 94 tested upstairs that is away from router. Just curious if this is expected..

Normal...somewhat. Acceptable.....up to you.

All VPNs are going to have some degradation in the download speeds due to the overhead involved in the encryption/decryption.

What are your download speeds with and without NWP running?

Many users here have reported significant drops in download speeds when using NWP.
