....before you direct me to Norton Removal Tool and reinstallation instructions, I've already done that, four times now.
I've uninstalled, deleted all files I could find, ran CC Cleaner, etc, but after what seems to be a clean installation each time, NIS will not start. I've gone into my services and watched the service automatically stop after I've started it several times and while it's stopping it will still say "started" under status.
The last thing I remember doing prior to this issue was downloading Norton Identity Protection for Google Chrome and then disabling it once Chrome started crashing for no unecessary reason. However, that cannot be the problem any longer as NIP is gone from Chrome due to the Norton Removal Tool and I'm still having the same problem. Oh and the 8504, 102 error takes forever to pop up after each install...almost like 20 minutes and then it pops up again.
The AutoFix had one successful run, but eventually told me to go to the support site which ran me through the same list of instructions once again. I have deleted nearly everything symantec save a few uninstalled downloads. I've run infection finders to no avail. It seems like there is something keeping NIS from starting up, even now it has a fresh install with the greyed out line over it.
I've run FixTDSS.exe and FixZeroAcess.exe, nothing found. I have NRnr.exe and NPE.exe in my download files, they are not installed. 2012Plugin.dll shows up when I search and NIS-UPGRADE-ESD-NoDefs-19-7-1-5-EN.exe.
I am also unable to start windows firewall.
Any help will be appreciated.
