Windows 10 Live mail, cannot Send, I am blocked

Hi. For the last 20 days I have been unable to send emails from my Windows 10 Live mail on my PC. The 'sent' emails are stuck in my Outbox folder, and the only thing working on that is 'delete'.  I have tried to 'move to junk folder', but I get a 'blocked sender' popup.  So I am blocked from sending from my own email account. I am the only one affected by this - the other Windows 10 Live mail accounts are working just fine.

Windows 10 Live mail has NO facility for blocking senders. This has to be something to do with a firewall or another security setting.

I have tried turning off the Norton VPN - makes no difference. I have tried adding my own email address to the list of sites etc to be excepted from blocking - makes no difference. I don't know what else to try.

This is weird - has anyone any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Thank you, optimistically.

Flabbergasted:
Solved! By deleting that email account and setting up a new one for that email account, using advanced settings for set up.

I tried to install Outlook but it just does not install on my PC.

Thanks

I tried to install Outlook but it just does not install on my PC. I do have an Outlook email account - an insidious thing that is impossible to remove from your Microsoft account after setting it up. You can only delete the whole Microsoft account, thus losing other Microsoft aps that you might want and use.

That was fiddly to do as you have to hunt for where to put in the email provider details.

I did loose some saved emails though. But had previously copied to text file ones that were important.

I still get a little popup saying I am blocked sender when I Move emails from one folder to another.
What does this mean?

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

The new Outlook for Windows is here
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/outlook/outlook-for-windows

It just gives this info :  Mail    Version 16005.14326.21752.0

and your Windows Live Mail or Windows Mail?

Sadly, none of the options on those links are available on my Windows 10 mail.

Also, there is no way to Reset as suggested here for Windows 11:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/win-11-mail-version-1600514326213740-when-i/d74956ad-99a9-401c-a6fd-53f5ea3f7e24

Corrupted somehow perhaps? But I have never seen any junk mail options, and for mail security on settings it always says Not available.

It is Windows 10 Live mail on my PC, for my talktalk email. No solutions on Microsoft community, and currently not an issue for anyone else.

Are you using web based email or a local email client to access your email?

Before you go deleting accounts, try contacting Support for Windows Live email. Others may be seeing the same thing and already found a solution.

Thank you. I tried switching the firewall off temporarily but it made no difference.

I think I will focus on saving all my emails including inbox, then delete that account and set up a new one.

If you want to check if the firewall is interfering, right click on the Norton icon in the system tray and click on Disable Smart Firewall. Then test your email. If you still have the issue it is not the Norton firewall causing the issue.  Be sure to turn the firewall on again after your test.

If turning the firewall off did resolve the issue, try resetting the firewall.

To reset the Norton firewall, from the main Norton Security screen click on Settings - Firewall. On the General tab, click on Reset beside Firewall Reset. Restart your computer. As you use programs that access your network/internet, the firewall rules will be created again.
