Windows 7 says that NIS isn't working

I hadn't had any trouble using NIS 2010 (latest version) on Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit), but suddenly two or three weeks ago I started getting the "3 important messages" notification. Windows claims that all three security programs (anti spyware, antivirus, firewall) are reporting that they aren't working. I checked NIS 2010 and it appears to be working fine.

 

I searched this forum and found the message about reregistering a DLL. Tried that. Didn't work. Then I found the message about the WinFix or FixWin program. Tried that, thought it worked, now I've got the red symbol in the notification area and the "3 important messages" again.

 

I'm pretty sure that NIS 2010 is working, but it still bugs me to get this notification. Don't know if the problem is due to some Windows update or to the latest NIS update.

 

Does anybody know what else to try?

Yes, I tried the solutions in other posts I found and they didn't work for me.

 

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. The lastest installer that I could find is for version 17.6.x.x. I installed that and all was well. I was sure that the upgrade to 17.7.x.x would break things; I thought that that upgrade is what had caused the problem. But, after a couple of days NIS automatically upgrade itself to 17.7.x.x and in the days since then I haven't gotten any more of the red flag warnings from Windows 7. So, I think that took care of it. Thank you.
