Hi. Sorry if this has been posted before. I have used Identity Safe before on my old laptop and have just bought a new windows 8 ultrabook. I installed my copy of Norton 360 v6 and then installed Google Chrome.
For some reason the Norton Identity Safe tool bar doesn't appear. I can go into Norton and login to Identity Safe and view my logins but the toolbar doensnt show in Chrome. I have tried to add the extension manually but i get a Chrome NPAPI not supported error.
First thing you need to do since you are still on version 6 of N 360, is to see the following link and make sure you are updated to version 6.4.0.9 which is compatible with Windows 8.
Since the time this occurred - version 20 of N 360 has been released. You can upgrade to N 360 v 20 via the Support > New Version Check and install v 20 over the top of version 6. After that is installed and activated, you need to run LiveUpdate (rebooting when requested) until LiveUpdate responds with "no updates found". You shold be able to go to Support > About and see version v 20.2.0.19.
Thanks for your reply. My version of Norton is 20.2.0.19 and the New Version Check says that the current version is upto date. I ran LiveUpdates which installed a patch.
Still not showing the Identity Safe toolbar in Chrome though. Any other ideas?

Thanks for the feedback, glad to hear you are totally updated and that's normal for current version to respond upto date since you are.
One more question, is it possible that you Winr 8 ultrabook came preinsatlled with NIS? As I understand it, if a Win 8 system comes with NIS preinstalled the Norton Toolbar will not show, but ID Safe can be controlled through the user UI.
My ultrabook did come pre installed with NIS and i installed 360 over the top, assuming it would replace NIS with 360.
Under normal circumstances, replacing NIS with N 360 requires a clean install. which includes a Control Panel removal of NIS, reboot, running the Norton Removal Tool, reboot, and then an install of N 360. Along with the normal running of LiveUpdate to bring the N 360 to current updated status.

I am sorry, I just went back and checked my notes, they state in IE the NTB will be hidden, but not in FF or Chrome!
