if i buy a windows 8, or windows 7=>8 capable machine and upgrade to 8

will norton download the 5.0 that may not be compatiable with 8, or the 6.0 which is compatiable?

the main question is will there be complication with 8

because i have the discware 360 5.0

i just want to know if i install 5.0 on 8 will i still be able to update it, or will i not be able to?

if i wont be able to,

will the norton account sections Download option, download the 5.0 or the 6.0(which you say is windows compatible)

downloading the whole thing.

The current version of Norton 360 is V20 -- they changed the versioning to bring it into line with Norton Internet Security -- which would have been V7 otherwise.

I doubt that your V5 would install on Windows 8 and it certianly would be unlikely to run correctly; your V6 probably would or you could download a single installer file of V20 which you could then use to install Norton 360 V20 on your machine since this has the more recent updates for Windows 8 compatibility.

But to give you the link to download this file you need to tell us if you have the Standard or the Premier version.

Alternatively if you log onto your MyNortonAccount from your Windows 8 computer you can use the Download button there and get a nearly current version installed which you can  then manually live update in the usual way.

Hi,

As you mentioned you have the Premium Edtion,  here is the download links for v6 and v20.

Cheers,

Dave
