After running a start Up scan in Norton, I now receive the following message when trying to start Norton 360:
Windows cannot access the specified path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
I tried the REMOVE and REINSTALL fix but receive the same message from either the desktop short cut, or the executable itself.
@Gregory_Hizer I’m not completely clear on all the ways you tried to open Norton interface but have you tried double clicking on the NortonUI.exe file that’s actually in the C:\Program Files\Norton\Suite\ path? If that works, then delete the desktop shortcut and create a new one.
This may be off the mark since I’m not sure if you have more than one local Windows account on your computer (e.g. administrator and standard accts). I came across unresponsive Norton when Norton was open in a user account on my computer and I tried to access Norton in my admin account.
Well, as it turns out, I had PCMATIC running. I had that before I got Norton back in 2020. Never interfered before, but once I deleted that, all is as it should be. Only figured it out while on a chat with Norton support, and tried to open a file they sent and got s message that it had been blocked by SUPERSHIELD. Never realized it was still running (i had bought lifetime subscription back in the early 2000’s.
