This a conflict issue between Norton 360 & Windows Defender. I have some batch files that I use to run manipulate the Flight Simulator X cfg files...very innocuous stuff. I have a new computer, running Windows 10 (Dell desktop)...when I had this setup with my HP laptop this was never an issue. But at times, Windows Defender "blocks" my bat file from executing because it's an "unknown publisher." I thought Defender was de-activated when running Norton 360. At any rate, I can't seem to find any way to convince my computer my batch-file is safe. I even scanned the batch files through Norton which showed no threats. Any way to make this problem go away? I'm attaching a screenshot of the batch file.
Indeed. A screenshot of the actual blocking notification would help greatly!! You can also check the settings in Norton as shown below if Norton is giving you the blocking notification.

Could it be Smart Screen blocking the file? Smart Screen does not conflict with Norton so is not disabled when installing Norton.
Hello Mark. Check for Windows Defender "real time protection" being enabled. Defender is disabled with the exception of Windows Firewall when Norton or other antivirus solutions are installed. However, Windows Firewall is "required to run" for the delivery of Windows Updates as designed by Microsoft. There isn't a conflict with Norton and Defender if Norton isn't giving you the blocking notification. Please review:
