I am new to the Community Forum but a long time NIS user. I am using NIS 21.1.0.18 on a Windows 7 64 bit desktop computer.
Lately, I have noticed that there are two spam messages in my Windows Live Mail (Version 2011) Gmail Account Spam or Trash folders that I can't delete. When I delete them from the Spam folder, they are correctly moved to the Trash folder. When I delete them from the Trash folder, they reappear in the Spam folder. The dates for the two spam emails are January 29, 2014 and February 1, 2014. I ran a full virus scan on Feb. 04, 2014 @3:00 pm and for the first time that I can remember, NIS found a heuristic virus which it resolved. NIS reported Suspicious.Cloud.9 File Insight - On computer as of 04/01/2014 @ 5:39pm Last used 04/02/2014 @ 2:19 pm Risk High. Origin downloaded from http:download.lollipop-net.com/bin/installer.php?id=1. (lolliponinstaller_14663.exe) I don't know how this lollipop program got installed but I remember seeing it under "All Programs" and I uninstalled it a week or so ago using Control Panel Uninstall a Program.
Is my problem with an inability to delete the two spam messages a malware/virus problem that may have been precipitated by lollipop? I ran full scan with NIS again tonight and it only reported finding cookies.

Dick, I deleted the messages locally on my desktop Windows Live Mail application. I wasn't aware that you could delete them on the Live Mail site. As far as the NIS history file, I'm not sure what you mean as it pertains to Windows Live Mail. When I check the NIS history, I see that "lollipopinstaller_14633.exe" was quarantined on Feb. 4th. I went back to Jan. 25th and didn't see any other High Severity items but there were quite a few Medium Severity "Unauthorized access blocked (Open File) items.
FE4, thanks for the advice. I ran a full scan of Microsoft Win. Malicious Software program yesterday (4 hrs to run) and it found possible infected software (HpEasyBackup\unins000.exe) but I doubt it was infected. I sent info on the scan to M.S as prompted. I checked and the file is still on my harddrive so it wasn't removed. I will look at MalwareBytes Free. I thought that the two spam emails I can't seem to delete were because of a malware/virus program on my system. I guess I'll just ignore the two problem emails.
This morning I went into my Gmail account using Internet Explorer and tried deleting the two messages there instead of via Windows Live Mail. I was successful in deleting both messages entirely from my mail account this time. It was obviously an issue with the handling of the messages in the Gmail server and not any malware/virus issues with my computer.
